This course provides a fantastic opportunity for those interested in a career surrounding the construction industry, including architecture and quantity surveying. Students need to show excellent self-awareness and attitudes towards safety in the completion of several small wood tasks in carpentry and joinery. Lessons also include drawing skills, construction safety and site management. This course supports students to show a willingness in working independently and some work has to be completed as independent self-study in the computer rooms. Written work is completed in most lessons and there are several mathematical activities to complete in the areas of trigonometry and use of graphs. Clear support is provided through written notes and teacher led demonstrations and discussions.
