Anti-Bullying Council

Anti bullying councilPastoral care is an essential part of the school’s ethos and is central to academic success. We are a caring, supportive and inclusive school and we foster an environment where ‘every child has the right to feel comfortable’ and that all students play a part in the KES community.

As well as having a strong support network of staff who can help any students that may have concerns around bullying, we also have the Anti-Bullying Council.

The Anti-Bullying Council is made up of a group of Year 11 students - the Anti-Bullying and Wellbeing Prefects - and is held in J9 every break time.

It is a safe space for students to talk to their peers about any issues they are having.

The Council will report any incidents that need to be dealt with directly to Mrs Howe, as she leads the Anti-Bullying Council.

Anyone that visits the Council for support, can be assigned an Anti-Bullying Council Mentor who will check in on them and provide them with someone they can talk to if they are having a bad day.

What is Bullying?

Bullying is defined as persistent behaviour by an individual or group with the intention of verbally, physically, or emotionally harming another person or group.

If a student feels that they are being bullied, they need to report the incident through one of the following channels:

  • Use the reach out forms that are available in tutor rooms if the student would rather not talk about it.
  • Report it to a teacher, their form tutor or their Head of Year.
  • Visit the Anti-Bullying Council in J9 who will be happy to help.
