Behaviour for Learning

As part of KES ethos to encourage students always to strive for their Personal Best, the school has a list of expectations for the classroom in order to create the best climate for learning and help students to learn to the best of their abilities.

These expectations are displayed in all classrooms and teachers regularly encourage students to follow them.

Students must comply with the following B4L requirements:

  • ARRIVE ON TIME
with what is needed for the lesson
  • UNIFORM
    Make sure it is correct.
  • READY TO LEARN
Equipped for learning… pen, pencil, ruler, calculator, handbook out.
  • GET LEARNING
Get started on the Do It Now activity as soon as possible.
  • LISTEN
to the teacher so that they understand what they need to do.
  • RESPECT
Don’t stop others learning, or make it difficult for the teacher to lead the lesson.
  • ENGAGE
fully with the whole lesson – try their best!
  • WATER
Being hydrated helps learning, but only water in a clear plastic bottle!
  • HOMEWORK
Use SMHW regularly and make sure they complete any homework on time and to the best of their ability.
  • HOUSE SYSTEM AND REWARDS
Fully engage with the House system and try to earn rewards for themselves and their House.
