Maths Feast

Posted on: 08/07/2019

A number of our Year 10 students took part in the annual Maths Feast competition having been invited to enter by the Advanced Maths Support Programme.

The competition gives students the opportunity to participate in a number of rounds that test problem solving, teamwork and communication skills. The aim of AMSP is to increase the number of students studying Mathematics, post GCSE. They work closely with schools to provide professional development opportunities for teachers, along with events such as this for students..

In four rounds our students were required to answer some challenging questions, often with time restrictions and without any team discussion. Our teams came 5th and 6th out of multiple entries and we enjoyed the day very much, while also gaining knowledge that we can take with us, heading for our GCSEs next year.
