Young Citizen Awards

Posted on: 17/05/2019

KES is celebrating the success of two students who have won awards from Rochford District Council for their hard work and commitment to helping others as well as enriching their own lives.

Louise, Year 9, was nominated for the Young Citizen Award (with Distinction) by Darren Parsons who runs the local Kaos Youth Club. She has been a leader there for almost 2 years, volunteering her time to help at the club and taking part in fundraising activities and residential camps. She will be fundraising soon by sleeping out on the SUFC pitch on behalf of the YMCA and the homeless.

Year 10 student, Alfie, was also nominated and went on to win both the Young Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year Awards. He runs the Stambridge Fishing Programme every weekend for individuals of all ages, giving up his Saturday job to volunteer at this worthy programme. Alongside this, Alfie has completed both his Level 1 and 2 fishing coaching awards.
