STEM WorkshopPosted on: 23/11/2018
As part of our STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) programme, the Medical Mavericks team ran a hands on workshop with Year 9 students.
Introducing a whole range of opportunities in the world of health, medicine and STEM, the team gave students the chance to try various machines, devices and training aids along with a talk on working in this field.
Along with more everyday aids such as blood pressure monitors and reflex testers, our students were able to search for their radius bone via a scanning device, practice 'drawing blood' from a prosthetic arm and see what keyhole surgery is like with a training aid.
