Students Raise Charity FundsPosted on: 08/11/2018
Several Year 8 students recently spent a day raising funds for Trustlinks, a local charity that supports people with mental health issues.
The students are taking part in the Rising Futures programme which aims to promote and encourage confidence, resilience, communication skills and self awareness and this 'Play Your Part' day, gave them some valuable experience.
Their day started with bag packing at Asda in Shoeburyness, where the students helped customers pack away their groceries and collected donations for the charity. Later they attended the Trustlink centre in Rochford, helping with gardening and learning about the charity and how the money raised, is used.
