Mission to MarsPosted on: 13/02/2020
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education involves teaching subjects and skills in a way that mirrors real life, the way we work and solve problems and how these subjects integrate and work together.
KES recently held two Mission to Mars workshops for local primary schools, as a way of introducing them to STEM concepts in a fun way. The Year 5 students had a chance to conduct science experiments to help them understand how this mission might be achieved and also prepared their own team presentations. Prizes were awarded for enthusiasm and knowledge.
This ongoing programme was delivered with the help of our own students who are STEM Ambassadors - students who have been chosen for their passion for the subjects, along with KES Governor, Ken Wickham who has a particular interest in STEM and also helps with the Rockets Club.
