Single use Plastic Awareness

Posted on: 15/11/2019

The Student Council at KES, which consists of student representatives from all year groups, have recently lead a campaign to reduce the school's use of single use plastics. Like many young people, they are concerned with the impact that they are having on the environment and the damage they cause to animal life.

As a result, our canteen has replaced all plastic cutlery with wooden versions and no longer sells plastic bottles of water. Every student has been issued with a reusable drinks bottle which they can fill up at the various water coolers around the school. A trial is also underway to replace plastic bottled fruit juice with juice dispenser.
