As an aid to testing students comprehension of their lessons, Year 9 Science students were asked to create a model of the DNA helix in only fifteen minutes!

The students were studying 'Variation for Survival' and learning about the structure of DNA and how DNA and reproduction lead to variation.They were also asked to consider the links to evolution and extinction and on to selective breeding, genetic modification and cloning.

The winners were Jack, Summer, Isabel and Shariya who created a model within the timescale allowed, that was clear and correctly labelled.
