Record Breaking A Level ResultsPosted on: 15/08/2019
Year 13 students received record breaking results today. The school has continued to improve year on year with this year’s results being the best ever and well above national averages. Compared to a falling national average of 25.5%, 36% of KES students received an A grade or higher. All students achieved exceptionally well, with a 98.1% pass rate.
Top performing students include Georgia, who achieved *A*AA and is going to Cambridge University to study French and Spanish, Lucy, who achieved ABC and will now go on to study Policing (Terrorism and Political Violence) at Canterbury Christchurch University and Harry, who received grades of ABB and is going to study Physics with Astrophysics at Exeter University. The students who studied CACHE Childcare had outstanding results, with most achieving either *A or A grades and a record number of students achieved Distinctions* in their BTEC results.
Our Headteacher said: “I am thrilled that so many of our students have performed so well this year and have achieved what they need for their next steps. We encourage all our students to aspire to be the best they can be; often they are the first in their families to attend university. We believe that by providing students with the option to take both A Levels and vocational courses combined, they can tailor their choices to better match their abilities and aspirations. We wish our students well and are very proud of all they have achieved as KES students”.
