Over 20 A Levels and 10 vocational options are currently offered in the Sixth Form.
Level 3 Courses
Most students in the Sixth Form are studying a combination of Level 3 courses. For the majority of students this will be one of the following pathways:
- 3 A levels + EPQ
- 2 A Levels + 1 BTEC + EPQ
- 2 BTECs + 1 A Level
- 3 BTECS or the CACHE Diploma in Childcare
In addition, GCSE Maths and English resit classes are compulsory if students have not achieved a Level 4 grade.
Level 2 Courses
For a number of reasons there will be students who do not get the required GCSE grades to study at Level 3. They can choose courses in Construction, Health and Social Care, Childcare, Public Services or Hairdressing. Students on Level 2 courses spend three days in school and two days in a work placement. Maths and English resit classes are compulsory if students have not achieved a Level 4 grade. Successful completion of Level 2 will enable you to progress to some of our Level 3 courses.
All Year 12 students will have enrichment studies on a Wednesday afternoon. Currently this means that students can choose from the following options that will enhance their studies and strengthen their CVs.
- Debating club
- Gold Arts Award
- Holiday Spanish
- Cookery Skills
- Young Enterprise
- Sport activities
- Work Experience
