Year 12 and 13 - Engineering A Level (BTEC Level 3 BTEC)
This course provides a unique opportunity in the understanding of engineering theory. The assessment relies on the students’ capacity to show imagination, innovation and independence. You will learn about manufacturing materials, manufacturing design, and computer aided designs. The use of practical skills is not significant however some small practical tasks are to be made. The ability to show clear notes and sketches is essential for examination work in addition to the mathematics behind your manufacturing decisions and theory. It should be noted that there is a significant element of mathematics and this is examined in the unit 1 paper. If interested, you will be encouraged to enter a local design competition and have an opportunity to view a variety of design projects made by students from across the county.
