Staff Profile

Back to Our Staff

The start to my teaching career came quite late in life, having spent many years working in Operations Management and General Management in the Hotel industry. As part of these management roles I was also an NVQ assessor, supporting and developing young adults to achieve vocational qualifications.

I have always been passionate about training and developing others and I decided to change my career to teaching in 2010. Whilst my degree was in Business Economics, I have always been fascinated by ICT and technology, hence when moving into teaching this was an area of specialism I focused upon.

I came to KES in January 2013 as the Head of ICT and later that year joined the Senior Leadership Team as an Associate. Whilst continuing to lead the ICT team my Senior leadership role also allowed me to support the development of our student progress strategies. In 2016 I was delighted to be promoted to Assistant Headteacher, the role I am currently in and one I am hugely passionate about.

There has been a raft of change made to National GCSE and Keystage 2 grading systems in recent years and at KES we are continually reviewing our progress model to ensure it is accurate and relevant for our students. The KES community is a wonderful school to be part of and I am extremely proud of the effort that our teachers and staff make, allowing every student the best possible opportunities to make academic progress.
