Coronavirus and Applying to College or Sixth Form 

Firstly, try not to worry. This situation is new for everyone and everyone is in the same boat. The aim of all the Sixth Forms and colleges is to try to treat everyone fairly and (as far as possible) to keep on in much the same way as in previous years.  

KES Sixth Form

If you are in KES Year 11 and have not yet completed an application form for Sixth Form, you still have time. Send an email to sixthform@kes.essex.sch.uk and someone will call you to discuss your options.

South Essex College  

Is open, with staff working from home.  For information see their website:

The college plans to use predicted grades and other factors to offer a suitable course to all applicants. They will be in touch with all students who have applied.  

If you have not yet applied you can still apply online. 

Please note: South Essex College will not run A Levels from September 2020 for new students. Students who have already applied will be receiving a letter. See this link for information:

Immersive Career Experiences and Online Internships with InvestIN

Visit their site to find out more about their online programmes that aim to create the ‘ultimate work experience’ for students aged 12-18. Click here to view courses starting in April including the Young Entrepeneur, Computer Scientist, Engineer, Doctor, Lawyer and Filmmaker.

InvestIN are also running 'live and online' internships in July and August to give students the opportunity to gain crucial multi-day summer work experience with successful professionals in a live, interactive environment, all from the comfort of their own homes.

• Students will work alongside experienced Doctors, Lawyers, Engineers, Investment Bankers, Computer Scientists, Psychologists, United Nations staff, CEOs, Architects and Filmmakers, to gain an immersive, 360-degree experience of their dream profession.
• Students can also choose to attend a 1-2-1 career coaching session, where a professional will create a bespoke personal development plan for them.
• Students will receive certificates of completion which they can include in their university applications.
